The new generation of weight forward fly lines are here. The Region Series of weight forward lines are great general purpose fly lines that won’t break the bank. The Angler, Pro, and Competition series are standard 5 weight lines whereas the Competition Plus series gives you that extra edge for fast action 5 weight rods.
Construction starts with a low stretch 18 lb test braided core. A proprietary PVC coating that is slick and pliable helps the with the management and shooting of the line. The dual step taper allows you to fully use the energy to cast the line accurately and further than other comparable fly lines.
This line can be used for any type of fly fishing techniques such as nymphing, swinging wet flies, dry flies, and streamers. One of the most important parts of catching fish is presenting a drag free drift and the line is designed to mend easily and effortlessly.
The fly line features welded loops at both ends for convenience and security. The front loop on the line is laser printed with the style, weight and size for easy identification.
The packaging includes a large diameter single piece spool to help prevent tangling and twisting while loading your reel.
The 4 series of fly lines have different color combinations:
Angler Series: Single Color in Vibrant Green
Pro Series: Dual Color in Vibrant Green and Tan
Competition Series: Tri-Color in Vibrant Green (Tip), Dark Green and Tan. The Vibrant Green Head also doubles as a strike indicator.
Competition Plus Series: Tri-Color in Vibrant Green (Tip), Dark Green and Bright Yellow. This line has additional taper enhancements for distance casting and the Vibrant Green Head doubles as a strike indicator.
"This is simply one of the best casting fly lines I've ever come across, particularly for today's faster action rods (such as the Region San Juan which it pairs with perfectly). I wish I knew how the guys at Region created the taper design they use but I wouldn't blame them for keeping that a trade secret. This line loads and fires easily and accurately with minimal false casting. As good as the head taper is, my favorite feature might actually be the running line section. I've never fished a line that mended so easily and cleanly, nothing I can think of even comes close." – George Slyvestre FFI Casting Instructor
