The Gurgler is a topwater fly usually used when Fly Fishing in saltwater but some use this pattern for freshwater as well.
This fly uses a double color foam strip to dance across the surface and create a small wake like a fleeing bait fish or shrimp. Vary how you strip these flies to create larger wakes, darting patterns etc. This will get the attention of the fish you are looking for. We tie these flies with a #2 Saltwater Mustad hook for durability and a penetrating hook set.
The eats on these flies are simply amazing to see.
